The gateway to Kupiansk once read,"Куп'янський район" - Kupiansk Raoin (Region) During the battles for the region, two letters were dislodged. It now reads “Куп'янський рай” or Kupiansk Paradise. Grim irony on the road the the frontline city currently facing down a slow but relentless Russian onslaught from the east.
Despite all of this, life remains. Civilians scrape by, and efforts to define the countryside surrounding the city move forward.
